Video Review of Facebook Application for Palm Treo

June 24, 2008 on 11:59 am | In Uncategorized | 2 Comments

Millions of people use Facebook. A majority of these users are unable to sit in front of their computer all day reading friend updates, wall posts, and to poke or be poked. Sure, in college, I had nothing better to do (homework, study, go to class) than sit in front of my computer. With mobility in mind, Facebook has launched a number of mobile Facebook applications.

From any cell phone browser, you can go to m.facebook.com and pull up a mobile version of the social networking website.

You can upload pictures and video from your cellphone by sending a multimedia message (MMS) to mobile@facebook.com.

In the video below, we review the Facebook application that was designed for the Palm Treo 680, 755p, and the Centro. Facebook is accessed using the internet connection through a program instead of the web browser.

To download it directly to your compatible Palm device, use the phone’s browser to go to http://mobile.palm.com/facebook. The installation process is also covered in the video.

Sending and Receiving Files via Bluetooth Using BlackBerry (video tutorial)

June 13, 2008 on 1:04 pm | In Uncategorized | 4 Comments

Transmitting files through Bluetooth technology has become very popular with cell phone users. You can transfer media that is not copyright protected. If you download a ringtone or picture from your wireless carrier, you usually cannot Bluetooth it to another phone. BlackBerry is a little bit different when it comes to sending and receiving using Bluetooth. This short video shows step by step how to do this. It is about 7 minutes in length.

Give us a call or shoot us an email with any questions.

CNet Reviews Cellphone Radiation Levels

June 13, 2008 on 10:45 am | In Uncategorized | No Comments

CNet compiled a list of cellphone radiation levels for US cellphones. This information is available to the public through the FCC website. CNet’s list explains what the “specific absorption rate (SAR)” level means and the maximum level allowed by the FCC. Looks like I’ll be wearing my tin foil hat when using my BlackBerry curve. I wonder what effect it has when it is in your pocket? Thank goodness for belt clips.

Read below for the link and some videos showing people popping popcorn using cellphones (supposedly an advertisement and not real, still cool though).

Standard Cellphone Voicemail Not Cutting It? Here’s a Better Way.

June 6, 2008 on 2:41 pm | In Uncategorized | No Comments

If you are heavy cell phone user like I am, you have probably been frustrated by the lack of features with your cell phone provider’s voicemail service. If you are using basic voicemail, greetings are limited to under 30 seconds. Your mailbox can only hold 20 messages and they can can only be kept for 14 days. Many carriers provide an enhanced voicemail service for a monthly fee and you get a little more capacity and longer message length.

YouMail is a great free alternative for voicemail on your cell phone. I tested it out and overall it works very well. Read on for pros and cons, instructions for setup, and other features.
